Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Dazzle, an AI assistant that learns from your photos to become more personalized and proactive. Dazzle uses the context in your camera roll to understand who you are and what matters to you, while looking at recent photos for things it can help you get done, buy, fix, or plan.
Moving Beyond the Basic Prompt
While modern AI is remarkably capable, most experiences still begin with a blank prompt and suffer from a “cold start” problem. Some AI assistants use emails and calendars to create context, which is helpful but often puts emphasis on work-oriented tasks.
Dazzle starts from an entirely different premise: your camera roll. If a photo is worth a thousand words, your camera roll is worth millions. By analyzing your photos, Dazzle understands your style, interests, hobbies, travel, people who matter to you and what matters to them, things you own, and what you like.
And, most importantly, people take pictures and screenshots of tasks they need to do every day. Dazzle considers each photo you take as a possible prompt. Why did you take this photo? Is it something you need to buy, fix, add to your calendar, or remember? Is there something Dazzle can do to help? Dazzle’s proactive approach makes moving from photo to action effortless. See something you want, like a new jacket? Snap a photo, and Dazzle can identify it, find where it is available, and buy it for you. Photograph a damaged floor, a flat tire, or a broken garage door, and Dazzle can identify the right professional and arrange for the repair. It can also add events to your calendar, save QR codes to your wallet, and complete other everyday tasks.

Through Ideas, Dazzle might suggest a restaurant that fits your preferences, a concert you’d love, or travel ideas based on places and experiences you have liked in the past. If you like a suggestion, Dazzle can make it happen with just a few taps.
Chatting with AI That’s Known You “Forever”
Dazzle’s chat utilizes frontier models, deeply enriched with personal context, preferences, and insights. Because Dazzle knows you through your photo history, it can answer prompts like “What should I get my nephew for his birthday?” or “What should I do this weekend?” as if it were a friend who’s known you forever.

We built Dazzle to fit naturally into your routine. You don’t need to jump through hoops to get help; Dazzle is available in iMessage, on the app, and on the web.
Instantly via iMessage & Text: Text Dazzle a photo of a school flyer, invitation, or appointment card. Dazzle extracts the important dates and adds them to your calendar.
In the App: Dazzle learns important milestones, like your child’s birthday, based on past photos and makes suggestions on how to celebrate.
Proactive Planning on the Web: Visit dazzle.ai for more complicated projects, like vacation planning. Drawing on your photos and preferences, Dazzle can suggest destinations, places to stay, and experiences. Dazzle can even create your itinerary.

Privacy Built for Personal AI
Trust is foundational to the Dazzle experience. We designed Dazzle to be opt-in, transparent, and user-driven. You are in control of what you share, and you can grant access to your full library, select specific photos, or choose not to grant photo library access at all. While we discuss our approach to privacy in a separate blog post, there are a few unique aspects we’d like to point out here:
When in doubt, we leave it out: You don’t want us to have your sensitive photos, and we don’t want them! If Dazzle suspects that a photo could be sensitive, it immediately excludes it. We don’t need these photos to do a great job.
On your behalf, not as you: We don’t believe a useful AI assistant needs unrestricted access to your digital identity. Your Dazzle agent has its own accounts and tools to accomplish tasks without broad credential-level access to your accounts or pretending to be you. We made a fundamental decision early in development to not impersonate a user. If something needs to be done, we do it on your behalf, not as you.
What’s personal stays between us: Your private information is only used to personalize Dazzle for you – not to train public AI models, target you with third-party advertising, or be sold or rented to others. When we use trusted third-party AI providers, our agreements prohibit them from using your personal information to train their own models. Your information is protected through encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, access controls, and ongoing security testing and monitoring.
Great assistants are useful because they know you well. They earn your trust because they exercise judgment, respect boundaries, and understand that access is a privilege. Our goal is to build an assistant that knows you remarkably well, while respecting your privacy and earning your trust.
